3.1 Merchant Information

When you install our app, we collect:

Shop Domain: Your Shopify store URL (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
Access Token: OAuth token to interact with your Shopify store
Poll Data: Questions, product images, and options you create

3.2 Customer Information (Your Store's Visitors)

When customers vote on polls, we collect:

IP Address: Used to prevent duplicate votes on the same poll
Vote Choice: Which poll option they selected
Timestamp: When they voted

We do NOT collect or store:

Customer names or email addresses
Payment information
Browsing history
Personal identification beyond IP address
Cookies or browser fingerprints

4.1 Merchant Data

To provide and maintain the poll functionality
To display polls on your Shopify store
To show you poll results and analytics

4.2 Customer Data

IP Addresses: Only used to prevent duplicate votes. We do NOT use IP addresses for tracking, advertising, or any other purpose.
Vote Data: Used to calculate and display poll results

5. Data Retention

While App is Installed: We store poll data and vote data as long as you use the app
When You Delete a Poll: All votes for that poll are permanently deleted
When You Uninstall: All your data is automatically deleted within 24 hours
GDPR Compliance: We respond to data deletion requests within 48 hours

6. Data Sharing

We DO NOT sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.

We only share data in these specific circumstances:

With Shopify: To function as a Shopify app (OAuth, webhooks)
With You: Poll results are visible to you in the app dashboard
With Your Customers: Aggregate poll results are displayed on your store (no individual voter data)
Legal Compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights

We respond to GDPR webhooks from Shopify automatically

Legal Basis: We process IP addresses under "legitimate interest" for fraud prevention, which is permitted under GDPR Article 6(1)(f).

We do NOT sell personal information

Our app is designed for merchants (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Customer age is not tracked or collected.

Supabase: Database hosting (data stored in EU data centers by default)
Vercel: Application hosting
Shopify: App platform and OAuth

As a Merchant:

Access Your Data: View all your polls and votes in the app dashboard
Delete Your Data: Uninstall the app to delete all data
Export Your Data: Contact us for a data export
Control Poll Display: Show/hide polls at any time

As a Customer (Store Visitor):

Contact the merchant to request vote data deletion
Use a VPN to change your IP address if you want to vote again

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
Sending an email notification (if we have your email)
Displaying a notice in the app
